Practical information for the visit
The village Al Jazirah Al Hamra is located about twenty kilometers south of the city of Ras Al Khaimah. It is a bit difficult to get there: from the south (from Dubai), on the main road towards RAK, turn left after the last resort, then turn right on an unpaved track. It is possible to walk inside the village, being careful where you put your feet (snakes can bask in the sun), keeping in mind that although abandoned houses still have owners who go there from time to time.
On site, park your vehicle. The main building or the old minaret are two interesting buildings to visit. Have a closer look to building materials, mainly coral stones.
